This photograph of the interior of St. Peter's Church from the 'Walter Hawkins Nightingale (PWD) collection: Album of views of Calcutta, was taken by an unknown photographer in the 1880s. View looking from the nave to the chancel within St. Peter's Church, Fort William. The garrison church foundation stone was laid in 1822, the building was consecrated in 1828, but not completed until 1835. Designed by Captain Hutchinson the church was considered a rare example of the Regency Gothic style of architecture in India.
