This photograph of the Kaveri Falls, Mysore taken in the 1890s by an unknown photographer, is from the Curzon Collection's 'Souvenir of Mysore Album'. A note with the photograph gives the following details, "A project to utilise the power of the falls, for the production of electricity, is now in the course of execution and is calculated to supply the Kolar Gold Fields with 4,000 H.P. The works are expected to be completed in eighteen months at a cost of £280,000." These falls are also known as the Sivasamudram Falls.
