Mosque at Seringapatam.
Medium: Photographic print
Photograph of the mosque at Seringapatam. This print showing a general view of the Jami Masjid was taken by an unknown photographer in the 1860s and forms part of the 'Photograph album of Major General Jackson Muspratt Muspratt-Williams'. The graceful Jami Masjid was built in 1787 by Tipu Sultan. The tall pierced minarets, crowned by onion domes contain narrow staircases and can be seen for miles around as the surrounding countryside is so flat.
