Photograph of Thul Rukan near Moro in Sind, Pakistan, taken by Henry Cousens in 1896-7. Cousens wrote in the Progress Report of the Archaeological Survey of Western India,1895 to 1896, "The Buddhist tope [stupa] known as Thul Rukhan is nine miles east by south from Daulatpur and fifteen miles due east of Sehwan. It is built of brick, but is greatly dilapidated. It would appear to have been built in four tiers surmounted by a dome, each tier being smaller than that below it and separated from it by a string course of semicircular moulding. The face of each tier is ornamented by pilasters at intervals, each having its base and ornamental capital...There are the remains of several of these topes in Sind".
