Photograph of the marble tomb of Mirki Bibi in the Rani Ka Hajira or Tombs of the Queens at Ahmadabad in Gujarat, taken in c. 1881, from the Archaeological Survey of India. There are eight marble tombs on a platform within the cloister. The black marble tomb in this image is probably that of Murki Bibi, first wife of Shaikh Shah Alam, and sister of Bibi Mughali who was wife of Muhammad Shah II (r.1442-51)and . It is carved with bands of incricate patterns, once inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
