Photograph of the mandapa of the Tripurantaka Temple at Balagamve, taken by Henry Dixon around 1868, from the Archaeological Survey of India Collections. Balagamve was a town of considerable importance under the Hoysala dynasty, from the 10th to 13th centuries. The view shows the pantiled temple mandapa, with inscription slabs standing in front of it and a European figure (Dixon?) sitting inside the mandapa.
