Photograph of the Tomb of Shah Khair-Ud-Din at Old Sukkur in the Shikarpur District of Sindh in Pakistan, taken by Henry Cousens in 1896-7. This view is of the brightly decorated east fa├žade of the tomb. Cousens wrote the Progress Report of the Archaeological Survey of Western India, 1897, "In old Sukkur is the tomb of Shah Khairu'd-din (A.D. 1618) whose bright blue enamelled dome distinguishes it from the mass of buildings by which it is surrounded. Its gaily decorated eastern front and dome is the work of Sindhi potters of some fifteen years ago and the scheme of colouring is after the style of the tile-work on the Talpur tombs at Hyderabad...The setting of the tiles is badly managed compared with the latter work, the joints are more apparent, and the lines of the designs are not always kept straight and true."
