Old Bridge on river Vishwamitri [Vadodara]
Medium: Photographic print
Photograph of the old bridge in Baroda, Gujarat from the Curzon Collection, taken by an unknown photographer during the 1890s. The two-tiered, arched, stone bridge was built in the 16th century and spans the river Vishwamitri, which flows through Baroda. The bridge is sited between the Sayaji Bagh, the public park, and the Kirti Mandir or Temple of Fame, the burial ground of the ruling Gaekwad family. It is flanked on either side by ghats, flights of steps leading down to the river.
