The Qala-i Kuhna mosque is part of the Purana Qila fort complex located near the Junna River, north of Humayun's Tomb. Qala-i Kuhna mosque was built by Sher Shah Sur c.1541, an Afghan who sent Emperor Humayun (r. 1530-1536) into exile between 1538-1555. He also completed building the Purana Qila.
