Half-length seated oval carte-de-visite portrait of Sher Ali in handcuffs from the 'Album of cartes de visite portraits of Indian rulers and notables' taken by an unknown photographer in 1872. Sher Ali was given life imprisonment at the penal settlement in Andaman Islands, when he stabbed and killed Lord Mayo, during the British Viceroy's official visit to Port Blair on 8th February 1872.
