Full-length seated portrait of Maharao Raja Sir Ramsinghji Bahadur from an album of views of Bundi formerly in the collection of Horatio Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener of Khartoum and Broome, (1850-1916), who was Commander in Chief of India between 1902 and 1909. The Maharaja sits cross-legged facing left holding a sword and shield. This print is a copy, probably by G.A.Kale, after the original by Johnston & Hoffmann. The photographers blind stamp can be seen in the bottom right hand corner.
Maharao Raja Sir Ramsingh Bahadur was born in 1811 and was installed to the throne of Bundi in 1821. He was a made a Grand Commander of the Star of India and Commander of the Indian Empire. He ruled for 68 years till his death in 1889.
