Photograph of a temple at Oomree from the Allardyce Collection: Album of views and portraits in Berar and Hyderabad, taken by Robert Gill in the 1860s. The location on the copy negative has been given as Amraoti (Amravati) which could make this the Amba Devi temple. The site of Amaravati near the ancient city of Dharanikota on the Krishna River flourished from the 3rd century BC to the 14th century AD. This view shows the richly carved sanctuary which has lost its superstructure, preceded by a pillared mandapa or hall.
