Panoramic view of a group of temples by the roadside, Bhubaneshwar, from the Archaeological Survey of India Collections, taken by William Henry Cornish in 1869. Bhubaneshwar has many sacred Hindu temples which were built between the 7th and the 13th centuries in the Orissan variant of the Nagara style. These temples normally consist of a sanctuary covered by a tall curvilinear tower divided into horizontal bands and capped by an amalaka and a pot finial. The square mandapa has a pyramidal roof.
