Photograph of the Royal Tombs, Lucknow from the 'Strachey Collection of Indian Views', taken by Shepherd and Robertson in 1862.The tomb of Zenab Aliya, the wife of Mahomed Ali Shah, was built on the model of the Taj at Agra. It is situated in the compound of the Husainabad Imambara or Palace of Lights and was built between 1837 and 1842 by Ali Shah to serve as a mausoleum for himself and his mother.
