Photograph from an album of 80 albumen prints taken by Eugene Clutterbuck Impey. Rajgarh was once the chief town of the Alwar region in Rajasthan. James Fergusson described this view of a chhattri or pavilion, 'The chutree, or resting place for travellers, was built as a work of charity by an old Hindoo in the neighbourhood. The front is partially painted. Though erected within the last few years, it is an extremely pleasing example of Hindoo architecture, and without any taint of modern vulgarity.'
