Photograph of a statue of Vishnu inside a ruined temple at Damdama, Hazaribagh District, taken by Joseph David Beglar around the 1870s which forms part of the Archaeological Survey of India Collections (Indian Museum Series). Damdama is located in the modern state of Jharkand. The site is made up of a number of mounds in which were found large eighteen inch bricks, indicating antiquity, and a number of temples. A note accompanying the print describes the group of sculptured slabs at the site, identified in Bloch's list as, "Surya seated on lotus throne, and some ornamental pieces."
