Photograph of a sculpture taken by Joseph David Beglar in 1873 or 1874. The piece is described by J.D. Beglar, in his 'Report of a tour in Bundelkhand and Malwa, 1871-72' : ''...the preponderant figure is that of a seated figure with the hands at breast, and fingers so disposed as to form an almond-shaped slit flanked on each side by the lines formed by the lines of the other fingers; there can be no mistaking the obscene intention of the symbol...'' This statue is inscribed with a Shaivic inscription although when wquestioned by Beglar, the local people claimed that the statue depicted Narayana. It stood inside a Shaivaite temple at Seori-Narayana in the Bilaspur District of Madhya Pradesh.
