Medium: Photographic print
A Hand-coloured print of Sudder Dewany Adawlut, Calcutta, from the Fiebig Collection: Views in Calcutta and Surrounding Districts, taken by Frederick Fiebig in 1851. The Sudder Dewany Adawlut in Sudder Street, originally Speke Street, was the native court of appeals for those Indians living outside the jurisdiction of Calcutta, but still within the Presidency. Justice within this court was administered either by Hindu or Muslim legal codes accordingly.
