Photograph of sculptured stones with Nagas in the Panchalinga temple at Manoli, taken by James Burgess around 1874. In the village of Manoli there are some medieval temples which were built around AD 1200 during the Hoysala rule. The Panchalingheshvara temple is one of the two larger ones. These stone slabs from the temple are carved with entertwined snakes, Nagas, with cobra heads and two rows of planets above them.
