Photograph of the street of temples in the Vimalavasi Tuk, looking westwards from Bhulavani in Satrunjaya. Lyon wrote: ''On the top of the steps alluded to in No. 624 [print 2021] a door in the wall gives admittance to a small court, on the left side of which is a tiny porch in which the Collector of Surat Mr Hope once lived for several weeks, and who is the only European who has ever been allowed to live inside the enclosure. Opposite his abode is the so-called Tiger Gate which forms the entrance to the Vimalvasi enclosure as the group of temples on this side the hill is named. The view is taken from just inside the door, and can alone give any idea of the multitude of buildings here crowded together.''
