This photograph was taken by Samuel Bourne in the 1860s. It shows the Memorial Garden established to commemorate the tragic events of the Indian Mutiny of 1857. Many women and children died at the site of the Bibighar well as they were trying to draw water. The photograph shows a detail of the famous angel seraph by Baron Carlo Marochetti set in front of a pierced Gothic screen designed by Henry Yule.
