The city of Fatehpur Siki was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar (r.1556-1605) between 1571 and 1585. This is a view of the baoli, or step-well, on the side of the Agra road near Hakim's Baths. The well is octagonal and encircled by domed chambers and galleries.
