Temple of Triloknath at Poonawa.
Photographer: Peppé, Thomas Fraser
Medium: Photographic print
This photograph of the remaining standing pillars and lintels of the temple of Triloknath at Poonawa was taken by Thomas Fraser Peppé in 1870 and is part of the collection of Sir Richard Carnac Temple. Descriptive notes by Peppé accompanying the collection of photographs read as follows, '...The principal antiquity is a pillared temple of Triloknath, which has no superstructure left, but which, according to Major Kittoe, was not the case when he visited it in 1847, at which time a considerable portion of the superstructure was still perfect'.
