This photograph of the Victoria Hospital, Bharatpur from the Curzon Collection, was taken by Priyalall and Company c. 1900. The Imperial Gazetteer (1908) states, 'Including the two Imperial Service regimental hospitals and that attached to the jail, there are five hospitals and a dispensary at Bharatpur, with accommodation for 148 in-patients. In the Victoria Hospital, one wing of which is solely for females, the Bharatpur State possesses what has been pronounced by experts to be the best equipped and most thoroughly up-to-date institution, as regards medical and scientific details in India at the present time'.
