This photograph of the Cenotaphs, Ganjam taken in the 1890s by an unknown photographer, is from the Curzon Collection's 'Souvenir of Mysore Album'. This monument was erected by the officers of His Majesty's 12th and 74th Regiments to the memory of the undermentioned officers, who were killed or died during the Siege of Seringapatam: H.M. 12th Regiment Foot: Leit. Geo. Nixon, killed on the 5th April 1799; Lieut. Thos. Falla, killed on the 6th Aptil 1799; Major James Allen, died on the 22nd April 1799; Lieut. Wal. Gahan, died on the 7th May 1799. H.M. 74th Foot: Lieut. Lewis Irwin, killed on the 26th April, 1799; Lieut. James Prendergast, killed on the 4th May 1799; Lieut. Vesey Hill, killed on the 4th May 1799; Lieut. Henry Shaw, killed on the 4th May 1799.
