The cenotaph of Maharana Amar Singhji II, the Royal Crematory at Ahr, near Udaipur
Medium: Photographic print
Photograph from the 'Curzon Collection: Album of views of Udaipur and Chittaurgarh', of the cenotaph of Maharana Amar Singhji II of Udaipur, at Ahr taken by an unknown photographer at the beginning of the 20th century. The chhatris at Ahar are the memorials for the Rajput rulers of Udaipur. The pavilion of Amar Singh (died 1621) is the most remarkable and has a quadruple-faced image in the middle and a basement richly decorated with friezes.
