Photograph of a tomb at Batwa near Ahmadabad in Gujarat, taken, by order of Major Cole, by an Army sergeant in c. 1881, from the Archaeological Survey of Western India (VII, pl. lxxv). This tomb is one of a collection of tombs from the 15th and 16th centuries in Gujarat, at Batwa, or Vatva. Perforated stone work, arranged in panels with a wide variety of patterns, fills the archways in the facades. This tomb is located near to the 'dargah' or shrine complex of Qutb 'Alam. It is accompanied by a mosque.
