Medium: Photographic print
Photograph of the Kaisar Bagh, Lucknow, taken by Samuel Bourne in the 1860s. Kaisar Bagh was built by Nawab Wajid Ali Shah (r.1847-1856) between 1848 and 1850 and is probably the last Nawabi palace to be constructed in Lucknow. It consists of a series of rectangular and square courts with the main court in the centre with a garden. This is a general view of the quadrangle and surrounding buildings.
