This photograph of the Nadrai Aqueduct, Lower Ganges Canal, comes from an album detailing its construction between May 1887 and 1890, and was found in the Map Room of the India Office Library and Records in the 1970s. The aqueduct was built to replace one of much smaller size, which had been destroyed by flood in 1885, and finally measured 1310 ft in length and 88 ft in height.
