Photograph of a group of seven viragals or memorial stones, with carved panels of battle scenes, from Velapur in the Sholapur District of Maharashtra, taken by Henry Cousens, from the Archaeological Survey of India Collections: Western India 1897-98. The temple at Velapur is in the Hemadpanti style dating to c.1300 in the reign of Devagiri Yadava king Ramchandra (1271-1310). Numerous temples in the Hemadpanti style were built in Central India under the Yadava dynasty in the 12th century. The memorial stones in this view were found on the ground near the temple
