Plan of a 19th century powder magazine situated at Musquetta Point in Jamaica. This large stone building was used by the British Navy to store gun powder and ammunition for the troops stationed there. The protective walls of powder magazines were very thick, up tosome as wide as 32 inches at some points, and were made from granite and brick.
