This is a view of Calliqua or Tyrrel's Bay, on the island of St Vincent. A beautiful island with lush valleys and fertile plains, it was ideal for the cultivation of sugar. The harbour is enclosed by a projecting piece of land from which a coral reef extends on the right and a large rock known as Young's Sugar Loaf on the left. The small village of Calliqua can be seen, as well as some store houses for the local plantations.
