This is a view of Kingstown, St Vincent. Kingstown was the principal town on the island in the 1820s. As can be seen from this print, the town was small, located on the sea front and well sheltered by the mountain range. It was defended by Fort Charlotte which was positioned at the top of the mountain. The Court House can be seen at the rear of Kingstown, with a jail building attached. The church was located in line with the Court House at the western edge of the town.
