Front page of the Kingston Journal, a newspaper from Jamaica, dated 26th August 1789. In it there are advertisements for ships due to sail to England, as well as for the sale of foods such as salt fish, beef and wine. There is also an advertisement offering enslaved people for sale. They had been transported on the ship Eliza under the Captaincy of Edward Bullock and the entry notes that they had all suffered from smallpox.
