An aquatint of Dry Harbour in Jamaica by the French landscape artist Louis Belanger (1736-1816). The harbour is on the north coast and is where Columbus is thought to have made his first landing in Jamaica in 1494. The explorer originally named the harbour Horseshoe Bay because of its shape, but it then became known as Dry Harbour. It was later renamed Discovery Bay in honour of Columbus.
