Print from James Hakewill's 'A Picturesque Tour in the Island of Jamaica,' depicting the Whitney Estate in Clarendon. The estate was situated on the main road linking the parishes of St. Elizabeth and St. Dorothy. It consisted of 3,243 fertile acres and was almost completely enclosed by the Whitney river. This view is of the estate works buildings from the south, with an aqueduct in the foreground and the Mocho Mountains forming an imposing backdrop.
