[Plan of the land from Piccadilly to the Mulberry Garden and Goring Great Garden sold by Sir Thomas Grosvenor to the Earl of Arlington]
Medium: Pen and ink on paper
Date: ca. 1815
This is a 19th-century copy of a drawing originally made in 1681 to accompany Sir Thomas Grosvenor's sale of 35 acres of land in Piccadilly to the Earl of Arlington. The new road from Knightsbridge to Westminster was opened in the same year, and the old road from Hyde Park Corner to Westminster shut down.
