This plan shows the ground floor of the British Museum built by Robert Smirke. The plan shows the galleries lay out and their usage: Miscellaneous Antiquities, Egyptian Antiquities, Phigalian Marbles. Three of the four wings of the ground floor are taken up by books in the British Museum Library which later became the British Library.
