This is a longitudinal section, in two parts, of the course of the River Thames between Battersea Bridge and Vauxhall Bridge. Using soundings taken at regular stations along the river, the surveyor Thomas Page plotted the longitudinal section of the river bed. The location of various landmarks along the river banks is also indicated.
