Burgh Castle in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, is "a fortress of large dimensions and of great strength, built by the Romans on the banks of the Yare about three miles S.W. of Yarmouth. The walls (14 feet high and 9 feet in thickness) though decayed by the lapse of centuries are in many parts wonderfully perfect. Coins, fragments of urns, and various articles of Roman workmanship, have been found in excavating here."
