Brodick Bay And Goatfell
Photographer: Thompson, Stephen
Medium: Photographic print
Goatfell, Arran's highest peak, rises to 2,886 feet above the sweeping slopes of Brodick Bay. In Walter Scott's 'Lord of the Isles' King Robert the Bruce and his companions lose their way and are forced to take refuge at Brodick.
"Then slowly bent to Brodick tower,
To shelter for the evening hour."
