"Caister Castle is situated about three miles to the north of Yarmouth, and was built about the year 1450 by Sir John Fastolfe, K.G. Caister Castle is one of the oldest brick buildings in the kingdom. The ruins are picturesque and can be easily reached. A five minutes' ride on the Yarmouth and Stalham Railway from Yarmouth to Caister Station will leave the visitor a pleasant little country walk of about half-a-mile."
