Cahir Cottage in Kilcommon, County Tipperary, was designed by John Nash and built in the early 1800s by Richard Butler.

"Kilcommon was much improved by the Earls of Glengall, the late earl having erected a beautiful metal bridge over the Suir, which winds gracefully through the demesne, the drive over this bridge, leading to a charming little sylvan retreat, called 'the Cottage,' built by his predecessor on a gentle eminence, tastefully planted with evergreen shrubs, and situated in a woodland scene of great beauty."

Text by William Hemphill.
