“Dyke on Barton Broad. – The rippleless water, with its reflected boats, puts one in mind of the poet’s double swan floating on the calm lake, i.e., the swan and its reflected counterpart in the still water. What a lovely nook for a poet to dream in, or a weary town toiler to enjoy the 'dolce far niente' in.”
Letterpress description by Ernest R. Suffling accompanying Plate LX from ‘Sun Pictures of the Norfolk Broads’.
