This is the tenth of 12 views published in 'Photographs of Norfolk Broads and Rivers' by Victorian photographer Payne Jennings. The letterpress description below accompanies Plate XCIV from the second edition of ‘Sun Pictures of the Norfolk Broads', published by Jennings in 1892 and written by Ernest R. Suffling.

“Dyke at Coltishall. – When it is stated that Coltishall and Thorpe (near Norwich) are two of the prettiest villages in Norfolk, it may readily be understood that the surrounding scenery is distinctly fine. The view before the reader shows but one pretty spot of very many in this neighbourhood.”
