The Society for Photographing Relics of Old London was created to record London's threatened historic buildings, many of which were lost in the Victorian period. Great Ormond Street extends from Queen Square to Millman Street.

"This fine example of the Queen Anne style was demolished in the course of last year. The portico has been acquired for the South Kensington Museum" writes Alfred Marks in his letterpress accompanying Henry Dixon's photograph from the book 'Photographs of Old London'.
