On Salhouse Broad

“On Salhouse Broad. – This shews a quiet sylvan-water retreat, so pretty that one is charmed with it till they come presently to one which is yet prettier. Indeed, among so many pretty nooks, backwaters and reedy bays, it is difficult to positively assign to any particular spot the premier position of the prettiest. These pretty spots are so very diversified and charming in their different details, that one can only admire them all in turn. It is the case of the boy in the confectioner’s shop, whose admiration of the pretty pastry only stopped at satiety.”
Letterpress description by Ernest R. Suffling accompanying Plate XIII from ‘Sun Pictures of the Norfolk Broads’.
