"Next in point of time comes 'Prawning.' This was produced in February, now nearly three years ago. A strong sea breeze, carrying light clouds across the sky, was now and again permitting gleams of sunlight to play upon the weed-clothed rock and glancing round the oil-skin garments of the Prawner as he gathered up with deft fingers the nimble captives in his net; the whole forming a common enough scene to those who are familiar with that part of the Sussex coast here represented, and is as welcome and grateful as the face of an old and loved friend."

Descriptive text by F C Lambert from 'Sun Artists' (Number 6)
