Rydale Falls are situated near the Cumbrian town of Ambleside in the heart of the Lake District where English poet William Wordsworth (1770-1850) made his home. His work was greatly inspired by the natural beauty of the local landscape. Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772-1834) and Robert Southey (1774-1843) also made the Lake District their home at the beginning of the 19th century.
