The Royal Cresent in Bath was built in 1767 by architect John Wood the Younger after the death of his father. The terrace is recognised as a masterpiece of Georgian archtiecture with its giant Ionic columns and stately fronts made of freestone. Although the houses all look the same on the exterior, each house was internally constructed according to the wishes of individual clients.
